As far I know you can do that here, there is place in Qld that produces information and kits.

I like the Canada based, Webb Motorworks idea of fitting a 225kW Borg Warner electric motor inside a facsimile of what it is replacing (there's meant to be a 420 kW version coming).
This is their small block Chev electric motor conversion, that drops straiģht in place of the ICE version.
At least your '57 Corvette, EV conversion, wouldn't look completely retarded when you lifted the bonnet.
